Pit-Type Gas Carburizing Furnace
Vertical-pit carburizer for long shafts and bulk batch loads.
Also known as: Pit carburizing furnace, Pit-type carburising furnace, Vertical carburizing furnace

Overview
The Pit-Type Gas Carburizing Furnace is designed and built by Trimurti Furnace in Nashik, India, for gas carburising & case hardening, through hardening, annealing & normalising and stress relieving. It is offered with a loading capacity of 700 – 800 kg gross per batch (varies by job) and a maximum temperature of 950 °C. Capacity can be changed as per your requirement. Each furnace is engineered to the customer's parts and throughput by Trimurti Furnace Pvt. Ltd., an ISO 9001-certified manufacturer since 1991.
Batch-type pit furnace for electrically heated gas carburising. The charge hangs in a sealed SS 310 retort with a fan driving the atmosphere through the load, and the lid is raised and lowered hydraulically. Supplied with a dual drip-feed system and an oil quench tank, with optional oxygen-probe carbon-potential control.
Engineering Perspective
Carburize long shafts vertically. They case-harden uniformly.
Lay a 2-metre shaft flat in a horizontal furnace and the bottom face shadows the top. Hang it vertically in a sealed pit and the atmosphere reaches every surface evenly — uniform case depth from one end to the other, no flat spots.
- Vertical hang — uniform case from end to end
- Six cycle modes from one machine
- Sealed atmosphere chamber
